If you experience that pages are not updated, or that pages and functions in the learning portal (Didac trainer) are not working as they should, this can usually be resolved by asking the browser to reload the page.
To make web pages faster, the browser automatically saves files and images it has previously downloaded. This can sometimes lead to the browser using an outdated version of the whole or parts of the website. In the worst case, this can cause the website to not function properly.
To ensure that you have the updated version, you can force the browser to reload all parts of the page. This is done in slightly different ways, depending on whether you are using the browser on PC/Mac, tablet, or phone.
Below we have gathered simple instructions divided by the different platforms:
Force refresh on PC (Chrome/Edge):
- Go to the page that is not working.
- Hold down the "Ctrl" key and click on the icon to reload the page:
Force refresh on Mac (Chrome/Safari):
- Go to the page that is not working.
- Hold down the "Shift" key and click on the icon to reload the page:
Force refresh on iPhone/iOS (Safari):
- Go to the page that is not working.
- Click on the book icon
below the address bar - see screenshot 1 - Click on the clock icon to view history, and then select "Clear" - see screenshot 2
- Select "All history" and click on the "Clear history" button - see screenshot 3
- Reload the page, if the browser does not do this automatically.
Force refresh on Android tablet (Chrome):
- Go to the page that is not working.
- Click on the three dots to the right of the address bar - see screenshot 1
- Click on the menu option "Clear browsing data" - see screenshot 2
- Select the time period "All time" - see screenshot 3
- Click on the "Clear data" button
- Reload the page, if the browser does not do this automatically.
Note! To be completely sure of what is being deleted, click on "More options" (screenshot 3 and 4), and check that the following is selected:
- "Browsing history" (browser history),
- "Cookies and site data" (cookies and other site data)
- "Cached images and files" (cached images and files)
Force update on Android phone (Chrome):
- Go to the page that is not working.
- Click on the three "dots" to the right of the address bar - see screenshot 1
- Click on the "History" option - see screenshot 4
- Click on the "Clear browsing data" option - see screenshot 3
- Select the time period "All time," and make sure the following are checked:
- "Browsing history" (browser history),
- "Cookies and site data" (cookies and other site data)
- "Cached images and files"
- Click on the "Clear data" button - see screenshot 4
- Reload the page if the browser does not do this automatically.
